Ribbon cutting planned for Parade of Homes

Posted

On Sept. 20, SouthTown will be host to a community-wide celebration in honor of the Baldwin County Home Builders Association and the 2007 Parade of Homes.    SouthTown is a subdivision offered by J. Barrons Land Development & Real Estate.

At 6 p.m. there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce marking the Grand Opening of SouthTown. This will be followed by a Street Party kicking off the 2007 Baldwin County Homebuilders Parade of Homes featuring the showcase home built by Keith Lamb. This year marks the first time there has been a showcase home in a location other than on the Eastern Shore. In addition to the showcase home there will be featured homes by M&M Builders, The Source and Stallion Homes.

Food, fun and entertainment will be provided for an anticipated crowd of 300. Cooperating sponsors for the event are Brenda VanDyke with SunTrust Mortgage, Foley Branch of First National Bank of Baldwin County, Colony Grill and Will Huges Catering.

The Parade of Homes will take place on Sept. 22-23 and 29-30. Homes will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Funds will be raised to benefit Habitat for Humanity and Eastern Shore Affordable Housing by making a $2 donation at the Showcase Home. About 60 homes in 41 subdivisons all over the county will be featured in the 2007 parade.
