Richard Edward “Dick” Nolte Sr., age 88, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
Born in Des Plaines, Ill. on June 13, 1926, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard multiple LST ships in the Asian Pacific Theater as an engine room diesel mechanic.
After marrying Emily, they moved to Gulf Shores, Ala. with his parents, August and Hulda Nolte.
Richard retired from Riviera Utilities after 25 years, and has been residing in Gulf Shores since 1968.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Emily; son, Richard Edward “Rich” Nolte Jr.; daughter-in-law, Dixie Leigh (Johnson) Nolte; and grandsons, Richard Edward “Ricky” Nolte III and Robert Tyler “Ty” Nolte.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015, starting at 10 a.m., in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
There will be a time for visitation with the Nolte family one hour prior to the graveside service at Pine Rest Funeral Home.
