Melvina S. Rider, 87, a native of Bay Minette and a resident of the White House Fork community, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Rider; her father and mother, Willis and Laura Stevens; a brother and five sisters.
Survivors include a son, Randy (Pat ) Rider of White House Fork; two daughters, June (Charles) Morgan of Pensacola, Fla., and Jody (Paul) Putnam of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sister, Joyce (Jimmy) Hinote of Bay Minette; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Brewster officiating. Burial followed at Johnson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Joey Rider, Lane Rider, Chad Rider, Steve Newton, Jarrod Newton and John Jernigan.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
