BAY MINETTE, Alabama — An Evening of Art will be held Saturday, March 12, to showcase and support the talented students of Bay Minette Elementary School. The Roar for More auction fundraiser will take place at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center.

The event will include dinner, dancing and a silent auction. The auction will include items donated by local individuals and businesses, as well as some unique, hand-made art pieces created by each class at BMES.

“We are so excited about the Roar for More event. The teachers and students have worked so hard on their art project and they look great,” said Principal Zack Wigstrom. “We are hoping to have a great turnout so we can make this an annual event. There are going to be a lot of great art items to bid on, great silent auction items, great food and a DJ for everyone to dance. It should be a ton of fun.”

PTO representative Heather Karras said this event will serve as the organization’s only large fundraiser of the year. “We are really excited to put on this silent auction for BMES. It is something different than we have ever done before and will feature good music and lots of variety in all of the auction items,” she said.

The fundraiser will benefit many facets of the school with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the music and art department and the remainder divided between beautification and PTO projects at the school.

Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple and can be purchased through the school office or through Karras at karrheat@yahoo.com.
