FOLEY, Ala. — Two Mobile suspects allegedly involved in a Nov. 19 robbery in the Wal-Mart parking lot behind Bebo’s Car Wash in Foley have been arrested and charged with second-degree robbery. The victim, an employee at Bebo’s, has also been charged with giving false information to law enforcement.
Jimmy Lee Rickles had originally told Foley police that he had loaned an unidentified female $5 for gas, according to a news release from Foley Police Department issued earlier this week. Rickles said when he got off work, the female called him over to her van again and an unidentified male struck him and pulled a knife on him and took his money.
When Orange Beach police located the suspect van on East Beach Boulevard, however, a different story emerged, according to a second news release issued by FPD.
Kayla Nicole Norris, 20, of Greenpark Drive in Mobile, said in her confession that Rickles had paid her for sex. Approximately an hour later, Norris and Rickles met again, and this time Norris and Michael Warren McNeil, 44, of Poates Place in Mobile, allegedly assaulted Rickles, took his money and left the area in a blue van.
Rickles, who was treated for head injuries at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and released, has been charged with giving false information to law enforcement. Norris and McNeil were each charged with a single count of second-degree robbery, a felony.
