Robert Dent Lancaster Jr. (Denny) passed away at his home Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Denny was born on July 18, 1939 in Washington, D.C. and was a lifelong resident of Mobile.
He was a graduate of Murphy High School and the University of Alabama. He was the CFO of McMillan-Harrison Fertilizer Co.
He enjoyed his retirement working at PetSmart. There, he received the PetSmart Care Award.
Denny was a scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America and was the recipient of The W. Kelly Mosley Environmental Award.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Lancaster Sr. and Virginia Aileen Haag; and a granddaughter, Isabella Rose Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Elizabeth Locke; four children, Melissa (Ned) Harkins, David (Tara), Caroline and Mary-Allison (Andy) Bauer; nine grandchildren; and a sister, JoAnne (Gray) Gordon.
A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 11 a.m., at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Mobile. A reception will follow at the Murphy Center.
