Robert Edward Donahue, 67, passed away Dec. 22, 2013 in Gulf Shores.
He was born Dec. 27, 1945 in Keokuk, Iowa to Patrick and Marjorie Bartholomew Donahue.
Robert was a longtime resident of the Baldwin County area. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Elberta, and was a retired offshore oilfield mud engineer for Ambar.
He enjoyed fishing, sailing, watching football and going out on his houseboat.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sands Donahue on Dec. 26, 2003; his parents; his sister, Patricia Gates; and brother, Jody Freeman.
He is survived by his two daughters, Natalie Donahue and Jennifer Donahue; six grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Randall of Louisiana and Claudia (Paul) Trauschke of Florida; five nieces; many cousins; two sisters-in-law, Myra Sands of Alabama and Elizabeth (Chris) Gahahl of Arkansas; three brothers-in-law, John Sands of California, Joe Sands of Alabama and Robert (Theresa) Sands of Alabama; four nephews and two nieces.
A celebration of the life of Robert Donahue will be held Jan. 25, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church, 1900 Gulf Shores Pkwy.
