Robert Edward Garner, age 91, a former resident of Loxley, Ala. and a resident of Arkadelphia, Ark., passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015.
Mr. Garner was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy.
He was retired from civil service and was a longtime deacon at the Loxley First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Wilcox Garner; and is survived by four sons, Michael Garner of Robertsdale, Ala., Stephen (Sherron) Garner of Arkadelphia, Ark., Patrick (Deborah) Garner of Patterson, Calif., Anthony (Anna) Garner of West Columbia, S.C.; sister, Barbara Setser of Milford, Ohio; half-brother, Ronald Garner of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2015, at 10 a.m., at the Loxley First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Spencer officiating.
Burial was in the Old Cooper Cemetery, Robertsdale, Ala.
A visitation will be held Thursday, from 6-8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home.
