Robert Eric Watson was born Feb. 8, 1949 in Pana, Ill. and died May 24, 2014.
Eric grew up in Huntsville, and graduated from Lee High School in 1967. Eric attended Jacksonville State University and graduated in 1971.
He worked in the telecommunications industry for 24 years, beginning with Comtel-South and Deltacom in Huntsville. He retired in 2009 from Harbor Communications in Mobile.
Eric is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail Shaw Watson; sons, Ryan Watson and wife, Kelly Watson of Springhill, Tenn., Evan Watson and wife, Emily Watson of Daphne; his grandchildren, Avery Watson, Jack Watson and Evelyn Watson; his mother, Marjorie Watson of Huntsville; sisters, Jennifer Sherman and her husband Brent Sherman of Huntsville and Andrea Aulds and her husband Charles Aulds of New Brunswick, Canada; and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Malone Hall at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 28788 Main St. in Daphne. A celebration of life service will follow at 11.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the St. Paul’s Building Fund.
