Robert Paul Scott, 89, a resident of Fairhope, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 5, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanore Vinci Scott of Fairhope; daughters, Cynthia Scott (Leslie Colonello) of New Orleans, La., Pamela Scott (Collin Rust) of Fairhope and Andrea Scott of Alamo, Calif.; and two grandsons, Nicholas Rust of Baltimore, Md. and Keenan Rust of Fort Collins, Colo.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Bob served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded a Battle Star for his participation in the occupation of Okinawa until the end of World War II.

In 1950, Bob graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Journalism and had a 30-year career in Rochester in advertising and public relations.

Fortunate to qualify for an early retirement from the Burroughs Corp. (Unisys) in 1981, Bob and Eleanore moved to Fairhope where they lived for nearly 34 years on Fairhope Avenue in the home that has been in Eleanore’s family since 1921.

In addition to being active with his family and his professional life, Bob had a passion for both golf and jazz. A member of the Lakewood Golf Club for more than 20 years, Bob loved the camaraderie of his golf friends and played golf several times a week.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, Save the Children Foundation, or the charity of their choice.

Arrangements by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
