ROBERTSDALE, Alabama —  A Robertsdale resident is being charged after a disabled woman under her care was taken to the hospital Monday and later died as a result of her injuries.

According to reports, officials with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office said Friday that deputies found Billie Jo Quintier, 52, unconscious on the floor at a home on Pate Road in Robertsdale on Monday.

Officials said Quintier was suffering from severe weight loss and bed sores. She was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley where, authorities say, she died Wednesday as a result of her injuries.

On Thursday, deputies arrested the home's owner Angela Leigh Butler, also 52, on a charge of neglect/abuse of an aged/disabled adult.

According to reports Butler took care of Quintier, who was disabled and unable to bathe or feed herself, for about six years following her husband's death.

Reports stated that Quintier weighed about 65 to 70 pounds. She also suffered from bed sores so large her bones were exposed.

Butler was charged for violating the Protection of Aged Adults and Adults with Disabilities Act. The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Human Resources are investigating.

The Baldwin County Corrections Facility website lists seven other bookings for Butler, from 1998 to 2008, including a third degree assault charge from May of 1999. Records show she was released after serving three days in jail.

None of the other bookings have charges listed. The last booking on the website is from July of 2008. She was released on bond the same day.

Butler is currently in jail on a $20,000 bond and charges could be upgraded in the case, according to reports.
