ROBERTSDALE, Alabama --- Are you looking for an easy way to give to the CARE House of Baldwin County? Now, thanks to a local dentist office, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3. Actually, it's as easy as 919.

Dr. Jason Northcutt and Dr. Jeremy Hardy with Robertsdale Dental Care have teamed up with the Smiles for Life Foundation, the children's charity arm of the Crown Council, for a nationwide campaign to raise money for children's charities.

According to its website,

www.smilesforlife.org, beginning this month, hundreds of dental practices throughout the United States and Canada are raising money for seriously ill, disabled and underprivileged children in their local communities and around the world.

Philips Oral Healthcare, makers of ZOOM! teeth whitening systems and BriteSmith trays, is donating all of the teeth whitening supplies and participating Crown Council dentists donate all fo their time to whiten teeth during the Smiles for Life campaign.

Participating dentists such as Robertsdale Dental Care are also participating in a texting campaign to donate money to local charities. By simply texting the word Smile, then adding a space along with the 3-digit number provided by the dentist (for Robertsdale Dental Care the number is 919) to 84465, a $10 donation is added to the donor's cell phone bill through their cell phone cervice provider.

Robertsdale Dental Care has partnered locally with Care House of Baldwin County and all proceeds from their local Smiles for Life Campaign will benefit the local charity.

CARE House Inc. was established in 1989 by the Baldwin County Department of Human Resources to provide services and resources for child victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, according to its website

www.bccarehouse.org.

This is done in a home-like environment, with two locations, the main location in Bay Minette and a satellite location in Summerdale, where children feel safe amd comfortable.

"Our goal is to raise $2,500 for CARE House," said Shannon Bankester, marketing coordinator for Robertsdale Dental Care. "We're excited to be partnering with CARE House and anything Dr. Northcutt and Dr. Hardy can do to help children in the community, that's what we're trying to do."

Since 1998, the Smiles for Life Foundation has raised over $30 million  and benefitted hundreds of children's charities. In addition to CARE House, participating charities include Children's Miracle Network, Children of Romania, St. Jude Children's Hospital, CURE in Cambodia, Smiles for Hope and the Kids Cancer Care Foundation.

"We're just really excited to be coming together as a community," said Alyssa Hoekstra, office manager for Robertsdale Dental Care, "to improve the lives of kids through the CARE House."

The program will run through June, then on Monday, July 2, the dentist office welcomes all participants for a day of free food and fun.
