Robertsdale Elementary student crowned Little Miss Heritage for 2011

SILVERHILL, Ala. – Madison McCartney Williams, a student at Robertsdale Elementary School, was crowned Little Miss Heritage 2011 at the second annual pageant held Saturday, Sept. 16 at Silverhill Elementary School.

All 27 participants in this year’s pageant participated in this year’s Heritage Day Parade, held earlier in the day on Saturday, along with 2010 Little Miss Heritage Ally Mavar, who took her final walk and presented awards to the 2011 winners.

Madison is the daughter of Julie Odom and Louis Williams Jr.

Mia Galnares, a student at Robertsdale Elementary, the daughter of Carlos and Margarita Galnares, was the first runner-up and earned the Prettiest Dress award Saturday. Anna-Kate Michele O’Connor, a student at Rockwell Elementary, daughter of Shawn and Tracy O’Connor was second runner-up. Third runner-up was Allyson Brooke Bankester, a student at Stapleton Elementary, the daughter of Joseph and Shannon Bankester.

Foley Elementary student Mayme Arlene McFarland, the daughter of Brian and Kiri McFarland, claimed the fourth runner-up spot. Matalyne Grace Kroll, a student at Robertsdale Elementary, the daughter of Matt and Stephanie Kroll, was named Most Photogenic.

“This is our second year and I am excited by the momentum that has continued for the pageant this year,” said Pageant Chair Christie Lyles.

Girls in kindergarten and first grade from throughout Baldwin County participated in the pageant.

Additional entrants were Alania Tyiese Brown, Emma Gail Chalifoux, Skylar Marie Cleworth, Isabella Jayne Cosby, Jocelyn Virginia Grace Deer, Brooklyn Elizabeth Dugger, Hannah Lynn Godwin, Jesslyn Rynae Gordon, Lylli Kathryn Gruber, Olivia Brooke Hanak, Rebecca Tucker Kidd, Morgan Faith Kroll, Caitlyn Rayn Laughman , Destiny Elizabeth Leggett, A’zalynn Victoria Lopez, TiAnna Reese Markham, Sarah Kaylyn Mathis, Kierston Brooke Paul, Nicole Aline Praytor, Natalie Grace Smeraglia and Grace Nichole Swope.

Proceeds from the pageant go to the Silverhill Kid’s Park. The pageant has raised over $1,000 in its first two years.

Sponsors for this year’s pageant were the Town of Silverhill, Jared N. Lyles PC, attorney at law, Hart’s All Service Inc. Plumbing & Gas, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated of Robertsdale, Central Baldwin Studios, A Personalized You Personalized Gift Boutique, Vision Bank, Neuschwander, Faircloth & Hardy PC, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, Gruenloh & Associates PC, Certified Public Accountants; Smeraglia’s Puppy University, and Bestsouth, who printed the program.

Laurie Gruenloh served as master of ceremonies for the event, which also included a special performance from Slippers and Taps School of Dance.
