ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Robertsdale Garden Club will have a plant exchange at its meeting on Tuesday, May 10 at the G. P. Thames Senior Center in Robertsdale. Guests are welcome.
The meeting on April 14 was a field trip to the South Baldwin Center for Technology.
Agriscience teacher Jeff Kelley led the group on a tour of the facility and answered questions about the plants grown at the Center. All plants are grown from seeds, cuttings, and plugs by the students in the program.
With around 45 to 50 students in his greenhouse management and horticulture classes, Kelley said, they are learning about what it takes to grow good hearty plants and vegetables.
Following the field trip a short meeting was held. Guests Sioux Thompson and Cindy Giszcinski were welcomed to the meeting. Door prizes, provided by Ramona Wagner, hostess for the field trip, were won by Linda Farrell and Charlotte Zinner.
