ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Four members of the Robertsdale High School Golden Bear Marching Band were selected to participate in the Alabama All-State Band Festival, held April 16-18 in Mobile.

Students selected from RHS were junior Brandon Williamson, French horn; junior Megan Nordberg, clarinet; sophomore Patrick Langham, clarinet; and junior Kevin Newsome, percussion.

Clinics featuring professional and college band directors were held April 16 and 17 at the Mobile Convention Center with dress rehearsal and band concert held April 18 at the Mobile Civic Center.

About 500 middle and high school students from across the state participated in the festival. Students from Robertsdale High School represented District 7, which includes students from Mobile and Baldwin counties.

Ten students for each instrument were selected in each of three bands, Red, White or Blue band.

RHS Band Director Dayna Brannan said students from Robertsdale averaged in the top 40 percent of participants from across the state.
