ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale High School basketball coaches Marshall O. Davis Jr. and Paul Marsh will present a Boys and Girls Basketball Skills Camp July 27 and 28 at the First Baptist Church in Robertsdale.
The camp, presented by Robertsdale Dental, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon both days and will focus on offensive fundamentals, including shooting, passing and ball handling; defensive fundamentals, including proper stance and footwork, rebounding and man to man principles; and team fundamentals.
All campers will receive a T-shirt, pizza party and plenty of basketball fundamentals. Campers should bring basketball shoes, money for snacks and a great attitude.
Davis has served as the varsity men’s basketball coach at RHS for the past four years. Under his direction the Golden Bears claimed the Area title and advanced to the Elite Eight in the 2009-10 season, advancing to Sub-Regionals in 2010-11 and were Baldwin County Champions in 2011-12.
The Golden Bears have produced the following scholarship players: Quinton Evans, Victor Valley Junior College, California; Brandon Ellis, Alabama A& M University; Kent Langham, Pensacola State Community College; andCalvin Dade, Faulkner State Community College.
Lady Bear Head Coach Paul Marsh has served as an assistant coach for the past seven years. He served as varsity boys basketball coach at Kinston High School in 2004-05 and New Brockton High School in 2005-06.
Several former players will also participate in the camp.
Deadline for pre-registation is July 15 and will cost $45 per person; $40 for multiple campers. Registration after July 15 will cost $50; $45 for multiple campers.
