BAY MINETTE, Ala. — A Robertsdale corrections officer and his passenger were injured Wednesday when a Chevrolet truck collided with the municipal vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 31 South and Hurricane Road.
According to the accident report, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the officer was driving south through the intersection when a 2003 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck, traveling north turned left and struck the Crown Victoria he was driving.
“By the look of the final resting place of the vehicles, this seemed to be true,” the report states.
According to the report, “the driver of the Chevrolet … was shaken up emotionally by the accident.” The woman was not injured. The officer and passenger were taken to North Baldwin Infirmary, where they were treated for minor injuries.
Both vehicles sustained such substantial damage they had to be towed from the scene.
No alcohol or drugs are believed to have been involved. However, the driver of the truck was issued a citation for no proof of insurance.
