ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale Rotary Club 2015-16 President Bryan Chandler presents a check for $1,135 to Zac Foerster with Ridden Word Ministries of Robertsdale.

Located at 22597 Highway 59 in Robertsdale, Foerster started Ridden Word in 2011 as a way to give back to the community.

The ministry began by taking and refurbishing old bicycles, painting them in a signature orange color and including a Bible verse on each bike. According to its website the organization has given away more than 500 bicycles.

The ministry now includes an Upper Room ministry and a Soup Kitchen ministry which is held once a month. Rotary Club members also volunteered with the Soup Kitchen ministry in December.

Money was donated through the Rotary Club’s sergeant-at-arms collection from July through December. Part of Rotary International, the club meets at noon every Tuesday at Mama Lou’s in Robertsdale.
