Robert Rolston, 89, born April 8, 1918 in Jerome, Ariz., died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Fairhope.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was honorably discharged in 1953 achieving rank of lieutenant junior grade.
He was a graduate of University of Southern California Law School, Los Angeles, receiving his LLB.
He was the former treasurer and director for Skelly Oil Company in Tulsa, Okla.
In 1970 he moved to Baldwin County. He was the vice president of the Grand Hotel Co. and Magnolia Trace Inc. in Point Clear until retirement in 1995.
After retirement he was a successful investor, particularly in oil and gas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Robert and Enid Thomas Rostine, and his wife, Rose Wayland Rolston.
Survivors include his devoted friend, Bessie Montgomery of Fairhope; three sons, Rodney (Amie) Rolston of San Antonio, Texas, Randy Rolston of Daphne and Richard Rolston of New Orleans; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home.
