Rose Elizabeth Buttafiori

Rose Elizabeth Buttafiori, 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 after a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 16, 1920 in Marlboro, N.Y., to Joesph and Josephine Truncali. She had four sisters and one brother and grew up on the Marlboro family farm. In 1939 she married Joseph Buttafiori of New York City. They resided in Newburgh, N.Y., and had two daughters, Loretta and Diane.

She was employed by Sears, in Newburgh as a credit and collection supervisor, retiring after 20 years.

In 1979 the retired couple moved to Silverhill and then Fairhope. They were active in the Foley Senior Center playing bridge, dancing and traveling. She also enjoyed gardening and reading, and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include two daughters Loretta LaMothe (husband Kenneth Smith) of Heath, Texas, and Angel Fire, N.M., and Diane (Leonard) Booth of Humble, Texas; and five grandsons, Edward LaMothe of Fort Worth, Texas, Guy LaMothe of Antwerp, N.Y., Eric LaMothe of Seattle, Ryan Booth of Mobile and Devin Booth of College Station, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 1040 Stanton Road Suite D, Daphne, AL 36526.
