Roy E. Butgereit Sr., age 84, a resident of Fairhope, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2017.
Roy was a lifelong member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joey Edwin Butgereit; and brother-in-law, Donald Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Butgereit of Fairhope; daughters, Robi (Richard) Jones of Fairhope, Rhonda (Gary) Johnson of Prosper, Texas and Rita (Bill) Treutel of Oneonta, Alabama; sons, Roy (Linda) Butgereit II of Fairhope, Ray (Frankie) Butgereit of Rosinton, Alabama and Richard (Kristy) Butgereit of Tallahassee, Florida; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Hill of Fairhope and Charlotte (Joe) Owens of Milledgeville, Georgia; brother, Ivan (Kiki) Butgereit of Roswell, Georgia; many other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held Friday, Feb. 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Fairhope United Methodist Church.
A reception will follow in Wesley Hall.
