Roy Edward Chandler, 83, of Crewe, VA., passed away in Prattville on Feb. 28, 2015.

Roy was born to Fred and Thelma Chandler on Feb. 13, 1932.

He lived in Crewe, where he served as deputy sheriff. He later moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. and then to Foley, where he and his wife, Beulah Chandler, retired.

Mr. Chandler enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-crafting and watching westerns.

Mr. Chandler is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Bobby Gray of Prattville; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ola Swain and Elsie Brown.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Beulah Chandler; his mother, Thelma Dobson Chandler; father, Fred Chandler; and sister, Gladys Barden.

Funeral services will be held at Jennings McMillian Funeral Home in Crewe on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11 a.m.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Jennings McMillian Funeral Home.
