Karen E. Ruckman, 54, a resident of Savannah, Mo., died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Hospice Savannah.
She was born in Chatham County. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Paris. She was a librarian in St. Joseph, Mo., for 13 years and she had run the Literacy Council in Fairhope.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Ruckman of St. Joseph, Mo.; her parents, John and Parilee Ruckman of Rincon, Mo.; two brothers, Gary (Susan) Ruckman of Savannah, Mo., and David (Tammie) Ruckman of Kansas City, Mo.; grandmother, Mozelle Berne of Rincon; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4 at Bloomingdale Alliance Church, Savannah, Mo.
Arrangements were made by Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes West Chatham Chapel.
