Loyd Joe Russell, 77, of Foley, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
He retired as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 99 in Foley.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Russell and Lou Ella Hooper Russell, a son, Kenneth Russell; four brothers, Aubery Russell, Buster Russell, Derrol Russell and Bertis Russell, and two sisters, Gaye Russell Thomas and Maybrey Russell Boren.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Mae Shaw Russell; five daughters, Karen (Paul) Broten of Topping, Va., Lori (Russell) Whitehead of Cascade Locks, Ore., Myra (Joe) Osterberg of Greenville, Tenn., JoAnn Russell of Boise, Idaho, and Elaine (Calvin) Adams of Elko, Nev.; two brothers, Paul (Betty) Russell of Little Rock, Ark., and Harold (Margie) Russell of Decatur; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at Pine Rest Funeral Home, Foley.
