Lt. Comdr. Maclyn Kellar Russell (U.S. Navy retired), 80, of Perdido Beach, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007.

He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran. He served for over 24 years reaching the rank of lieutenant commander. His decorations and awards included World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Occupation Medal and The Meritorius Unit Commendation Ribbon.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Russell Eslinger.

Survivors include his wife of over 58 years, Leona P. Russell of Perdido Beach; daughter, Sharon Russell Bemis of Spanish Cove; four sons, Marlyn Kellar (Lavanda) Russell of Pace, Fla., David Craig (Melba) Russell of Lillian; James Brian (Cindy) Russell of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Scott Thomas (Renae) Russell of Stevensville, Md.; brother, Michael G. (Winnie) Russell of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola. Full burial honors will be rendered by his fellow shipmates at graveside.
