Ruth Doyle Fontana, 98, of Foley, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013.
“Ruthie” was born Aug. 7, 1914 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Mae Lee Toombs and James Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Fontana of Foley; a sister, Elizabeth Christie of Gulf Shores; and a brother-in-law, Danny Christie of Gulf Shores.
She is survived by a very close and faithful friend, Tonya Tanner of Summerdale; David Hilyer of Summerdale; and a number of other close friends.
A celebration of the life of “Ruthie” Fontana will be held June 5, 2013, at 10 a.m., lakeside at Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley. A reception will follow at the Gift Horse Restaurant in Foley.
The family suggest memorial contribution in Mrs. Fontana’s name be made to Furrever Homes Animal Rescue Foundation, 23300 Fountain St., Robertsdale, AL 36567.
