Ruth Whidbee Barnett, 95, born in Atmore and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at Providence Hospital.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney Glenn (Deborah) Barnett of Mobile and Burl Francis (Laura) Barnett of Mobile; a daughter, Claudia (Sonny) Steiner of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Ray Harold Whidbee of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Thursia Whidbee Long of Rabun; eight grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home, with Elder Larry Steiner, Elder Sonny Steiner and Sister Thursia Long officiating.
Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, from 11 a.m. until the service at Norris Funeral Home.
Although the family will accept flowers, they suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
