Whitney Tucker Ryan and Orrin James Law, both of Mobile, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. June 27, 2009 at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Newman of Bay Minette, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Ryan of Brewton. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tucker of Mobile and Mr. and Mrs. John Ryan of Robertsdale.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Law of Mobile. Grandparents are Mr. Leonard Law Sr., Evelyn Law and Enid Williams, all of Mobile.

Dr. Dan Ireland, great uncle of the bride, of Birmingham, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, Doyle Ryan, wore a strapless European satin wedding gown with tiny covered buttons extending down the entire length of the back of the train. The fitted bodice was complimented with wide tucks on the front and back. She carried a bouquet of pink and white peonies.

Vocalist Mia McCoy sang, “Captivate Us.” Readers were Jenny Overstreet, Gretchen Quave and Brigette Soderlind. Trumpeter was Garret Carter and Connie Sullivan served as organist.

Haley Newman Harbaugh, sister of the bride, and Erica Cox served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Bethany Boggs, Sarah Kirkland, Andrea Owen, Sarah Minton, Jessica Law, Bailey Nicholson and Chasity Byrd. Honorary bridesmaid was Lauren Holcombe.

The bridal attendants wore royal blue sateen gowns and carried bouquets of pink rosebuds.

William Law, father of the bridegroom, served best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Law, Morgan Law, Alex Law, Brent Partin, John Gabel, Mickey Smith, Jarrett Holcombe and Brandon Kirkland. Ushers were Derek Biehl and Russ Allen.

A reception at the Mobile Museum of Art followed the ceremony.

After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Theodore.
