Alabama Public Service Commissioner, Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh, will highlight the April meeting of the South Baldwin Republican Women’s Club on April 26 at the Gift Horse Restaurant in Foley. The meeting begins after a buffet luncheon at 11:30.
No reservations are necessary. The luncheon is $10.
Commissioner Cavanaugh served in Gov. Bob Riley’s cabinet as Senior Advisor during his second term and as Deputy Chief of Staff during Riley’s first term in office. She worked for Rep. Sonny Callahan on many national issues as well.
Commissioner Cavanaugh served as the State Director of Citizens for a Sound Economy, a national organization promoting lower taxes for Alabama families. She is a graduate of Auburn University, and she and her husband have three children.
Tie a Yellow Ribbon
In celebration of Armed Forces Day, the South Baldwin Republican Women will sponsor Tie a Yellow Ribbon, a live and silent auction with a portion of the proceeds to benefit families of the Alabama Army National Guard’s 1165 Military Police Company, recently deployed to Afghanistan.
The event will be May 21 from 5-8 p.m. at The Spirit Center, 915 N. Pine Street, Foley, or two blocks west of Alabama 59 between Fig and Sections Streets.
The costs is only $15 and will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages and wine, live and silent auctions and entertainment.

The public is invited to attend. The South Baldwin Republican Women meet the 4th Tuesday of each month.
