Sally Gelfenbaum, age 87, passed away Oct. 24, 2012 at her home in Gulf Shores.
A St. Louis native, Sally and her husband Max, moved to Gulf Shores in 1987 to play golf and enjoy retirement. She was a past president and current member of the Gulf Shores Ladies Golf Association. Golf was her passion as evidenced by her two "Hole-in-One's". In addition to golf, she was an avid Mah-Jongg player, knitter and a true St. Louis Cardinals fan. She truly enjoyed the special friendships she had developed over the years but of most importance, was her family. She looked forward to the spring and summer visits and the family reunions at Thanksgiving. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max. She is survived by her three children, Mark (Carol); Lynn (Don) and Guy (Terry); four grandchildren, Megan, Courtney (Andrew), Alexa, and Joshua; and her great-grandchild, Dylan. A celebration of life will be held Nov. 21, 2012, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at her home, 1701 Regency Road, Unit 127, Gulf Shores. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
