Richard Salvatore “Sal” Lugano, 58, born in Queens, N.Y., and a resident of Stapleton, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army and he worked as a purchasing agent for Standard Furniture Company.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa A. Shivers Lugano of Stapleton; four daughters, Jennifer Moore and Stacey Miner, both of Magnolia Springs; Kimberly Gonez of Aspen, Colo., and Aurora Fluhr of Laud, Mo.; three step-children, Shawn Johnson of Bay Minette, Ashley Smith of Steelwood and Matthew Johnson of Bay Minette; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and sister, Deidre Harris of Key West, Fla.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 15, from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie F. Sanders Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

Active pallbearers were, David Shivers, Jimmy Shivers, Robert Shivers, John Shivers, Gerald Walker and Shawn Johnson.

Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
