Samuel Hampton Buck, age 72, a resident of Summerdale, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.
Mr. Buck lost his year long battle with cancer. He fought it with grace. Mr. Buck retired from the U.S. Army serving over 22 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the Summerdale First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Jack and Ruby Buck and brothers, David Jackson Buck and George Steven Buck. He is survived by three daughters, Deena Louise (Travis R.) Townsend, Tammy Denean Buck and Jamie Lynn (Nathan) Smith all of Summerdale; two brothers, Theodore Sampson “Sam” Buck and William James “Bill” Buck both of Summerdale; one sister, Ruth Swain of Miami, Fla; seven grandchildren, Brandal Townsend, Ashton Sullivan-Buck, Brodie Townsend, Cody Ruoss, Bethany Ruoss, Ben McNeil and Hayden Smith and several nieces & nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home Funeral and services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Summerdale First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Smith and the Rev. Steve Norman officiating. Burial will be in Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale. Funeral arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
