Ethel M. Adcock Sanders, 75, a native of Huntsville and a longtime resident of Foley, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her two beloved daughters, her beloved son and daughter-in-law.
She was born Feb. 1, 1932 in Quitman, Ga. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos henry McElroy; mother, Julia McElroy Brewer; her first husband of 37 years, Thomas Preston “Bud” Adcock; son, Dennis Wayne Adcock; and granddaughter, Lesley Amanda Brewer.
Survivors include a son, Rip (Kim) Adcock of Altus, Okla.; two daughters, Dona (Randy) Henderson of Meridianville and Rhonda Anderson of Meridianville.; four grandsons, Philip Brewer of Huntsville, John Adcock of McEwen, Tenn., Cary Adcock of Hickham Air Force Base, Hawaii, and Tim Brewer of Toney; twin granddaughters, Tara Funderburg of Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, and Tammy Colvin of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota; 12 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janita Jean of Huntsville, Peggy Smith of Schererville, Ind., and Sandra Majors of Huntsville; a number of nieces and nephews; a very special dear friend, Dona Metoxen of Foley; and her two dogs, JJ and Bubbie.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Baldwin County Humane Society and St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
Cremation arrangements are by Cason Funeral Service, Foley.
