DAPHNE, Ala.—Santa Claus and his little helpers will be at the Daphne Public Library on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

Santa will share his favorite Christmas stories with children in the Community Room of the library.

Fanny Barnette, the library’s children’s librarian, said the Santa Claus is from the non-profit organization Santa-America that sends Santa Clauses throughout the community during the holiday season.

"There's two sessions. He's going to read a couple of stories to the kids, then come out a take pictures. Then, he's going to go back and read two more stories and then take some more pictures," Barnette said.

Two sessions of stories and photo opportunities will be available on Thursday, one beginning at 5:30 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m.

Hot cocoa and treats will be served and admission is free.

Barnette said there were around 150 kids at Santa’s visit last year, which the library has hosted for at least five years, Barnette said.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Santa Claus also would appear Friday.
