Saturday O Delta Day benefits scholarship fund in memory of Leah Ann Overstreet

BAY MINETTE — The third annual O Delta Day will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lower Bryant Pavilion in north Baldwin County, featuring a fishing tournament, river races, live entertainment, fish and chicken plates, a silent auction and more.

Proceeds benefit the Leah Ann Overstreet Memorial Scholarship Fund. To date, the committee has awarded $11,000 in scholarships to Baldwin County High School students.

The silent auction will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Catfish and chicken luncheswill be sold onsite and carry outs will be available. The dinners will be available beginning at 11 a.m. and the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

 Live entertainment will be provided by the BCHS Tigerettes and Tiger Guard, Shane Tucker as Elvis Presley, Earl Parkers bluegrass band, Harley Rowell, Delta School choir and others.  This years event will include some new features including intertube races at noon and 3:30 p.m., a Rubber Duck race at 12:30 p.m., and the river raft race at 1 p.m.

Each race entry fee is $5. There will also be the annual O What a Dessert contest. Desserts should arrive by 10:45 a.m. for judging and the winners will be announced that day.

After judging, samples of the desserts will be available for purchase.
