GULF SHORES, Ala. — Saunders Yachtworks, with facilities in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, received the prestigious Boat Yard of the Year award from the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association at its annual conference in Ft Lauderdale.

The award is given to that boatyard which “demonstrates excellence in all facets of business through commitment to customer relations, quality management and positive vendor and employee relations”.

Andrew Saunders, Chairman of the Board of the company, accepted the award.

“We are very proud to have won this fine award as real symbol of recognition from our peers. It is fitting that it comes in both our 50th Anniversary year as well within weeks of the opening of our new Gulf Shores headquarters building,” Saunders said. “We thank the association for honoring our past efforts while we focus on our goal of making Saunders Yachtworks the Boatyard of the Future.”

The American Boat Builders and Repairers Association represents more than 250 boatyards, repairers, and associated industries in the United States and abroad.

As the hub of the boatyard/service-facility network, ABBRA provides its members with the opportunity to exchange information and coordinate efforts to handle matters of mutual concern through open discussions, quarterly newsletters, an annual conference, and training seminars throughout the United States.
