SBCT offers a humorous look at a classic tale

GULF SHORES, Ala. — The South Baldwin Community Theatre will present “The Three Musketeers, All Swash and No Buckle” by Pat Cook on Aug. 8-10 and 14-17.

Featuring young actors from throughout Baldwin County, the two-act play is a comedy/farce that is entertaining for all age groups.

Based (very) loosely on the work of Alexander Dumas, the play features sword fights, swashbuckling, star-crossed lovers, a nagging mom, a narrator and lots of fast-paced dialogue.

It’s a tale of derring-do and dastardly deeds that poses such questions as “is chivalry dead?” and “if so, who killed it?”

Performances will take place Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

There is also a special Thursday night show on Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m., to benefit The Karen Cater Fund, which provides ongoing support to youth theatre.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $7.50 for students and $3 for pre-school children. (This production is not included in the season tickets.)

To order tickets call 968-6721. Tickets will also be available at the door.
