After a year as the executive director of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, Pam Schaar tendered her resignation, effective Aug. 31, according to Dennis Stastka, chairman of the board.
In an e-mail dated Aug. 21 sent to the membership Stastka announced Schaar’s resignation. In that communication, he quoted portions of Schaar’s Aug. 17 letter of resignation to the board.
“I quote from Pam’s letter, ‘Due to unforeseen health reasons, I am no longer able to be in attendance in this position. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the businesses and communities of the association.’”
Schaar was hired to fill the position of executive director of the organization in July of 2006.
Schaar has been involved with the chamber in many capacities since she first moved to the area with her husband, Jeffrey, and young son, Caleb, in 2000. She served on the board of directors, as well as the Expo Committee, and was chairwoman of the Women in Business Committee. In 2002, Schaar was named Volunteer of the Year by the CBCC.
Stastka said the organization is growing and doing well and looking forward to the move to the new building soon to be constructed on Highways 59 and 90 in Robertsdale.
“If anybody needs our assistance, they can call the chamber office or me and we’ll help them in any way we can,” Stastka said. “We will begin the process for a search for a new executive director as soon as possible.”
