Suzanne E. Schlesier, born Nov. 17, 1934 to Louise Simon Creighton and Charles B. Creighton in Irvington, N.J., died July 17, 2008.
She was a graduate of Scotch Plains High School and Berkeley Secretarial School. On Aug. 27, 1965, she married Eugene Schlesier.
He was a career Naval officer, giving them the opportunity to live in Florida, Puerto Rico, California and Hawaii. Upon retirement, they settled in Florida and moved to Foley in 1997. She was a volunteer in the emergency room at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 20, 2002; and her father.
Survivors include her loving mother, Louise Creighton of Hanover Park, Ill.; her dear sister, Margaret (Wayne) Deeke of Hanover Park; nieces and nephews, Michael (Tina) Deeke, Katherine Deeke, David Deeke and Meg (Bradley) Dixon and their son, Thomas.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with a memorial service at 4 p.m. Friday, July 25, from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.
Her family wishes to thank her dear friends Lamar and Phyllis Trawick, Judy and Herman Doster, Carol Corrington of Tennessee and Ruth and Virgil Daniel for their care, concern and help during her illness.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Baldwin County Humane Society, 306 Magnolia Ave., Fairhope, AL, 36532.
