Search warrant served in Foley death investigation

FOLEY, Ala. — A search warrant was served last week on a subject in the Pensacola area in connection with the death of Michael Saucier of South Bay Street, according to a Foley Police Department investigator.

“Evidence from the search was sent to the lab for processing,” Lt. David White, lead investigator at FPD, said on Tuesday.

White said authorities are not releasing the name of the subject in question.

Michael Saucier, 54, had lived in Foley for a year and a half, having spent most of his life in the Pensacola area. He had moved to Foley to be near his son and had apparently lived a quiet, reclusive-type life while in Foley.

Saucier’s body was discovered by his son on Jan. 23 at the duplex where the former lived.

White said FPD has been working closely with the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office in conducting the investigation since most of Saucier’s acquaintances were from that area.

“They’ve been a big help,” White said of ECSO.

Initial FPD press releases concerning Saucier’s death said the victim had trauma to his “head and neck area.”
