The City of Foley's popular downtown Farmers Market and 'Music and a Movie' series return for a new season on Friday, May 3rd.  The events are held at Heritage Park, with the Foley Farmers Market held every Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00, through June 28.  Music and a Movie hits the stage to follow, with the season kickoff this week featuring animals from the Gulf Coast Zoo from 6 to 7 p.m.  The Starlight Theater will perform from 7 to 7:30, followed by the Alabama Baton Corps prior to this year's premier film.

That movie title for opening night is Evan Almighty.  The 2007 release, starring Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman, was the stand-alone sequel to the 2003 comedy Bruce Almighty.  The plot is a modern retelling of the story of Noah's Ark.  Appropriate that Gulf Coast Zoo should be one of the featured entertainment segments on this o"opening night" event in Foley.

The family-friendly films are shown on a giant screen in the open air setting.  Bring along lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the show.

The Foley Farmers Market showcases locally-grown produce and fresh seafood, as well as other local products like eggs, baked goods, jellies, jams, preserves and honey.
