GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Locals and beach guests are encouraged to fill the stands for the 10-team SEC Women’s Soccer Championship this week with semifinals beginning Friday and the SEC championship match Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex (4389 William Silvers Parkway). Quarterfinals are under way today and continue tonight. This long-standing Orange Beach tradition airs live on the SEC Network and ESPNU.
“Since 2003, the city of Orange Beach along with the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission has partnered with the SEC to host teams from around the Southeast for remarkable collegiate soccer action,” said Beth Gendler, vice president of sales for the Sports Commission. “We’re blessed to share our beautiful destination with all the athletes, coaching staffs, families and fans, and we encourage our local community to fill the stands and cheer on these deserving teams.”
Additionally, the Alabama Soccer Festival for youth U6-U12 soccer teams will take place in conjunction with the SEC tournament Nov. 2-6 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The championship match will air live on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. CST on ESPNU. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children (K-12) per game.
