FAIRHOPE, Alabama — The 2013 Senior Bowl North team practiced on Thursday at WC Majors Field at Fairhope Municipal Stadium in preparation for Saturday’s Senior Bowl in Mobile.
The top college football seniors, including former Foley High School and University of Alabama safety Robert Lester, are featured in the Senior Bowl, which will be played Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
Quarterbacks Ryan Nassib (Syracuse), Mike Glennon (NC State) and Zac Dysert (Miami OH) and running back Kenjon Barner (Oregon) will lead the North team. The North team is coached by the Oakland Raiders coaching staff, while the South team is coached by the Detroit Lions staff.
The North and South squads will go through their final walk through practices on Friday, then many players will take part in the “Senior Bowl Experience” and “Meet the Players” events at the Mobile Convention Center Exhibit Hall. The “Senior Bowl Experience” begins at 1:30 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m., while the popular “Meet the Players” event lasts from 3-6 p.m. Both events are open to the public.
Ladd-Peebles Stadium gates will open at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. The game will be televised live by the NFL Network.
Other notable players on the South roster include quarterbacks Landry Jones (Oklahoma), E.J. Manuel (Florida State) and Tyler Wilson (Arkansas), running backs Stepfan Taylor (Stanford) and Mike Gillislee (Florida), receivers Tavarres King (Georgia) and Ryan Swope (Texas A&M), tight end Michael Williams (Alabama), defensive tackle John Jenkins (Georgia), long snapper Carson Tinker (Alabama), linebacker Nico Johnson (Alabama) and defensive back Bacarri Rambo (Georgia).
