Senior Dance tonight at 7

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Seniors are busy at the Senior Center with classes and games filling the week.

The Easter Pot Luck was filled with joy. There was a good turn out and all enjoyed the Westminister Village linedancers. Lively steps and hearts sharing what they enjoy. Know the Bay Minette Senior linedancers enjoyed sharing their interest with each other.

Bay Minette enjoyed a windy but beautiful Easter. Hope you and your families enjoyed sharing that “Jesus is alive,” as you worshipped the Lord and thanked God for His gift to us that we might have eternal life.  Maybe the question for us is “Is Jesus alive in us?” If so, we can make a difference in all that we meet. I thought about all the local churches in our town and the joy in each and everyone as they shared Jesus with all who came their way.

There was a surprise at the monthly BMASCO meeting April 7. The president and treasurer resigned due to health; however, vice-president Erma Young became the president and Herb Waters accepted office of vice-president and Idella Shirley accepted the office of treasurer. Everyone rallied around them and offered their support. Appointments were effective immediately. Seniors wish Ann Fisher and Sandy Sakwa a speedy recovery and that they will continue to be a part of the Senior Center activities.

Remember the Senior Dance will be tonight from 7-9 p.m. with “DJ” Mr. Classic furnishing the music. Finger foods will be appreciated and donation of $5 will help to pay the piper. Be sure to come and enjoy an evening out with friends.

Will let you know next week the May Book-of-the-month. Also, critique comments about “Dewey.” Hopefully, the No-Kill Shelter will be open this year. Who knows you might meet your Dewey there? Hope you were there and picked our book-of-the-month for the Flip/Flop Book Club for May.

Get your April calendar and join in the activity of your choice. Make one day of the week your special day out with friends.

Computer classes on Monday from 1-2 p.m.; Flower Arranging and Bow Making class on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.; Art Class on Friday from 9-12 noon; and Exercise Class on Monday and Thursday from 3-4 at The First Baptist Gym. And for those who like games, on Tuesday from 1-4 there is bingo; Wednesday, canasta and other card games from 2-4 p.m.; Thursday is dominoes and cards from 2-4 p.m.; and Friday is bridge from 1 p.m. til?

And if you just want to talk about what’s happening at the Senior Center, drop by on Thursday mornings from 9-10 for coffee and sweet rolls.

Also, mark your calendar for Movie Nite, April 24, beginning with social hour at 5 p.m with sub sandwiches. Movie begins at 6 p.m., “Man of Miracles,” with John Ritter.

Hope you all had a special Easter and that it lifted your spirits for the Merry Month of May.

Thought for the week: This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Where is this scripture found in the Bible?)

May God bless you and keep you until we meet again.
