Sewer Spills: Fairhope, Loxley

The Baldwin County Health Department has reported the following sewer spills:

1. The city of Fairhope Utilities department has reported a leak in a lift station pipe resulted in sewage being discharged into Mobile Bay. The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using this water body for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.

2. The Baldwin County Health Department notifies residents that a sewage spill occurred on Monday, Dec. 3, in the Loxley area of Alabama. According to a report received by the health department on Dec. 4, the spill resulted in sewage being discharged into Lake Raynagua and Perone Branch.

The health department urges residents to exercise caution using these water bodies for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
