S.F. teacher could be sent back to school

SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Bass Pro Shops may send a Spanish Fort teacher back to school, if they receive the most $2 donations at the Spanish Fort Bass Pro Shops store.

Visitors to Bass Pro Shops can nominate their child’s favorite teacher at the checkout counter by filling out a $2 nomination form.

Nominations are only taken during February–still more than two weeks left to vote.

The minimum amount raised at the store must total $1,800 to send a teacher to the leadership school. If more than $1,800 is raised, the money will be donated to the Safari Club International and  the American Wilderness Leadership school.

The chosen education will receive hands-on positive experience  they can relay to their classroom where they can teach their students the importance of the natural world around them.

The Safari Club International Foundation’s American Wilderness Leadership School will be held July 15 through 22, at the Bridger-Teton National Forest located near Jackson, Wyo.

The school is accredited, according to Larry Whiteley, manager of communications for Bass Pro Shops.

“It’s a great program where the chosen teacher will bring a lot of knowledge back to the classroom,” Whiteley said.

The chosen teacher will also be eligible for advanced degree or continuing education credit, according to a news release.

The Safari Club International Foundation is a a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and Safari Club International is a 501(c)(4) hunter advocacy organization.

The foundation teaches wildlife conservation and hunter advocacy and has since 1979.

Bass Pro Shops is at 20000 Bass Pro Drive in the Spanish Fort Town Center.
