SFC Dorsey Ray Henderson Sr., 89, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014.
He was a U.S. WWII, Korea and Vietnam veteran, a decorated hero, who loved his family and country.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Henderson of Fairhope; three daughters, Shirley (Kenneth) Jerkins of Spanish Fort, Linda (James) Horechny of Fairhope and Brenda Andresen of Corvallis, Ore.; four sons, David (Pam) Henderson of Fairhope, Dorsey Ray (Cheryl) Henderson Jr. of Fairhope, James (Sherrie) Henderson of Barnwell and Joseph (Dee Dee) Henderson of Foley; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 12:30 p.m., from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
Interment with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite charity.
