SFEEF’s 5th Fiesta deemed a success

The 5th Fiesta at The Five Rivers Delta Center presented by SFEEF (Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation) was a tremendous success. Sherry Dewberry chaired SFEEF’s first adult evening event and was assisted by Donna Glover (advertising), Deidra Wiley (tickets sales), Stephanie Curtis (pinata prizes) along with numerous other SFEEF board members.

The evening started with many attendees watching the end of the Alabama-LSU game on the center’s theater wide-screen TV. As soon as the game ended, the Tyn Tymes band started playing, and everyone enjoyed dancing and singing along to all their favorite music. Piñata raffles started, and attendees tried their chance (blindfolded) to break the different piñatas for prizes of airline tickets, stay at the Marriott Grand Hotel, Master’s Practice Round tickets, dinner certificates, rounds of golf, sports items and many more exciting items. Everyone said it was a lot more fun than a silent auction.

The live auction was very active with bidders going for the coveted one-day tickets for two to attend the famous and favorite Masters Golf Tournament. All attendees were entered in the drawing for the 42-inch plasma TV that was awarded at the end of the evening. This event was indeed a fiesta or party as the setting was ideal, weather was perfect, music was super, food and drinks were great, and everyone enjoyed this fun-filled evening. In fact next year’s event is already scheduled at 5 Rivers for Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008.

We take our hats off to our wonderful supporters, participants and especially our sponsors. Funds raised from this event will support a Snoezelen Program classroom for autism students, teacher/student mini-grants, Spanish Fort cross country team (who helped put on the Haulin’ Hooves Bull Run held Nov. 17) and other educational needs.
