SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Some 400 people attended Spanish Fort Middle School’s Fine Arts Extravaganza Saturday at the Daphne Civic Center, making the new school’s first fundraiser an overwhelming success.

“I think that everyone was amazed by the quality of our student work. The music and visual art displayed was incredible. I cannot get over how talented our students are,” Principal Carol Palumbo said.

In addition to live performances by the school’s award-winning bands and choirs, visual arts students also showcased their talents while the teen-living classes and members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America prepared desserts for patrons.

“We have not completed an accounting reconciliation of the event, but all money raised—after expenses—will be given back to our fine arts programs,” Palumbo said.

“This was a very good start, and we already have ideas on how next year can be even bigger and better.”
