Shari Darlene Helms, born February 20, 1941 in Lampassas, Texas, a resident of Foley, went to sleep in Jesus on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011.
Mrs. Helms was a homemaker, writer of short children’s stories and a vegetarian cookbook.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted family, her husband of 52 years, John R. Helms; daughter Debra L. Elliott, Coldwater, Miss.; granddaughter, Laurie E. Elliott, Coldwater, Miss.; granddaughter, Rebekah L. McCoy, Daphne; nephews Kirk and Kevin Smart, Fresno, Calif.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held by her family. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
